ASG President Engages Ghanaian Stakeholders During Four-Day Visit to Accra
The President of the African School of Governance (ASG), Mr. Francis Gatare, recently led a delegation to Accra for a four-day visit aimed at strengthening partnerships and engaging stakeholders committed to promoting ethical and impactful leadership in Ghana and across Africa.
During the visit, the ASG delegation met with leaders from government, academia, the media, and the private sector to share the institution’s vision and explore opportunities for collaboration in building a new generation of African leaders equipped to drive the continent’s transformation.
As part of the engagements, Mr. Gatare paid a courtesy call on Her Excellency Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, Vice President of the Republic of Ghana.
The Vice President welcomed the initiative and reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to working with fellow African nations to empower leaders in both public and private sectors who are ethical, capable, and dedicated to advancing Africa’s development agenda.
Throughout the visit, Mr. Gatare empharsized the importance of collective action in addressing governance challenges facing the continent and reiterated ASG’s readiness to partner with institutions and individuals who share the goal of strengthening leadership across Africa.
“The African School of Governance is an institution for the entire continent,” Mr. Gatare said.
“We are committed to collaborating with like-minded partners to address the governance challenges Africa faces and to build a movement of leaders across sectors who understand the continent’s needs and possess the skills and tools to deliver lasting solutions.”
Established in January 2025, ASG welcomed the first cohort of its Master of Public Administration (MPA) programme, comprising 51 students from 14 African countries.
Recruitment for the next cohort is currently underway, while additional programmes and initiatives are being developed to further support leadership development across the continent.
