Rwanda, Ghana Strengthen Regulatory Cooperation with New MoU
On Wednesday, April 8, 2026, the High Commissioner of Rwanda to Ghana, Rosemary Mbabazi, on behalf of the Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Authority signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Francis Otoo, Director General of the Nuclear Regulatory Authority of Ghana.
The agreement marks a significant step in strengthening bilateral cooperation between Rwanda and Ghana in the regulatory sector.
The MoU is designed to promote collaboration, knowledge exchange, and capacity building between the two institutions, particularly in areas related to regulation, safety, and best practices.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, High Commissioner Mbabazi emphasized the importance of partnerships in advancing institutional effectiveness and supporting sustainable development.
She noted that Rwanda remains committed to fostering strong relationships with Ghana and other partners across the region.
Prof. Otoo highlighted the value of the agreement in enhancing technical cooperation and sharing expertise between the two regulatory authorities. He underscored the role of such partnerships in improving regulatory frameworks and ensuring safety and efficiency in the sector.
The MoU is expected to facilitate joint initiatives, staff exchanges, and the sharing of experiences, contributing to the strengthening of regulatory systems in both countries.
