Rwanda Promotes Petroleum and Gas Investment Opportunities at Africa Oil Week in Accra
The Rwanda Mines, Petroleum and Gas Board (RMB) and the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) presented Rwanda’s opportunities in the petroleum and gas sector, together with other investment prospects, at Africa Oil Week in Accra.
The event now branded AOW:Energy 2026, ran from September 1 to 3 and brought together governments, national oil companies, international and independent operators, investors and financiers, with a focus on upstream investment, licensing and partnerships.

Rwanda used the platform to speak with governments, international oil companies and other stakeholders in Africa’s natural resources sector. The Rwandan delegation discussed the country’s investment climate, and the opportunities open to partners in the sector.
Rwanda’s participation also served as an invitation to the upcoming East African Petroleum Conference and Exhibition (EAPCE27), to be held in Kigali from March 9 to 11, 2027. The conference is the largest petroleum gathering in East Africa, and stakeholders were encouraged to mark their calendars and take part.
The engagement forms part of Rwanda’s efforts to attract partners and investment to its extractives sector, and to build relationships with industry players across the continent.
