High Commissioner hosts Lancaster University students

The High Commissioner of Rwanda to Ghana, H.E. Rosemary Mbabazi on Friday March 23, 2024 hosted law students of Lancaster University Ghana to a debriefing session following their recent study tour to Rwanda.

The over dozen students in March 2024 embarked on an educational trip to Rwanda to gain insight and a firsthand experience of Rwanda’s legal system, governance structures, and socio-cultural dynamics.

The students, who were of different nationalities, shared their experiences which they believe have shaped and broaden their perspectives and deepen their understanding of global issues.

Taking turns to share their individual experiences from the trip, the students were impressed by Rwanda’s progress; from the management of the environment, spatial planning and land use to ease of doing business in Rwanda to adoption of technology in Rwanda’s court system.

The High Commissioner, Rosemary Mbabazi shared with the students Rwanda’s past, vision and values of staying united, thinking big and being accountable.

On his part, the Provost of Lancaster University Ghana, Dr. Emmanuel Arthur, who accompanied the students to the debriefing session, encouraged the students to implement and put into practice the best practices learned from the trip in the spaces that they will find themselves.

To ensure continuity of such an immersive learning experience, both the Rwanda High Commission and Lancaster University Ghana committed to continue to collaborate and strengthen the ties between Rwanda and Ghana.

In recognition of the facilitative role and support that the Lancaster University Ghana students received from the Rwanda High Commission to make the trip a success, the students presented a plaque with citation to the High Commissioner.
