Rwanda, Togo sign visa free deal
While in Lomé to participate in a high-level meeting on strengthening coherence and consolidating the African-led peace process in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and the Great Lakes region, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Rwanda, H.E. Olivier J.P. Nduhungirehe, met with his Togolese counterpart, H.E. Prof. Robert Dussey, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and Togolese Abroad.
The meeting provided an opportunity for the two Ministers to reaffirm the strong and cordial relations between Rwanda and the Republic of Togo, and to explore ways of further deepening bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
During the meeting, H.E. Olivier J.P. Nduhungirehe and H.E. Prof. Robert Dussey signed a Visa Waiver Agreement for holders of all categories of passports.
The Agreement allows citizens of both countries to travel between Rwanda and Togo without the requirement of a visa, thereby facilitating the free movement of people.
The signing of this Agreement shows the shared commitment of Rwanda and Togo to promoting people-to-people exchanges, strengthening economic, trade and investment ties, and advancing African integration in line with the vision of the African Union.
