High Commissioner Mbabazi Pays Courtesy Call on Ghana’s Chief of Defence Staff
The High Commissioner of Rwanda in Ghana, H.E. Rosemary Mbabazi, on Wednesday, 5th November 2025, paid a courtesy call on Lieutenant General William Agyapong, Chief of Defence Staff of the Ghana Armed Forces, at the General Headquarters in Accra.
The meeting, held in a spirit of friendship and mutual respect, reflected the excellent relations between the Republic of Rwanda and the Republic of Ghana, and provided an opportunity to discuss ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in the area of defence and security.
During the discussions, High Commissioner Mbabazi and Lt. Gen. Agyapong exchanged views on the long-standing collaboration between the Ghana Armed Forces and the Rwanda Defence Force, including areas of peacekeeping, capacity building, and professional military education.
Both sides expressed their commitment to enhancing institutional cooperation and exploring new avenues for partnership in support of regional and continental peace and security.
The High Commissioner commended the Ghana Armed Forces for their professionalism and contribution to peacekeeping missions within the region and across Africa, noting that both Ghana and Rwanda share a strong commitment to promoting peace, stability, and development on the continent.
Lt. Gen. Agyapong, for his part, welcomed the High Commissioner and reaffirmed Ghana’s willingness to deepen collaboration with Rwanda in defence and security matters of mutual interest.
