High Commissioner Mbabazi Solidarizes with the youth on AU Youth Day2025
The High Commissioner of Rwanda to Ghana, Her Excellency Rosemary Mbabazi, delivered a solidarity message at the 2025 Africa Youth Day commemoration held in Accra on Saturday, 1st November 2025.
The event, organised by Ghana’s National Youth Authority (NYA) under the auspices of the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment, was marked by a Ministerial Youth Dialogue on the theme: “Accountability, Policy, and Youth-Led Solutions for National Development.”
In her remarks, High Commissioner Mbabazi extended warm greetings and solidarity from the Government and people of Rwanda to the youth of Ghana and the African continent. She commended the Government of Ghana and the National Youth Authority for their continued efforts in promoting youth development, inclusion, and participation in national transformation.
“Today, as we commemorate Africa Youth Day, we celebrate not only the energy and creativity of Africa’s young people, but also the growing political will across our continent to empower you- the custodians of our shared future,” she stated.
Her Excellency underscored that political will must be accompanied by the active leadership, innovation, and determination of Africa’s youth to translate vision into concrete action and impact.
“You are not spectators in Africa’s story - you are its authors, its architects, and its active drivers. The Africa we desire - united, prosperous, and peaceful - depends on your courage to transform opportunities into tangible progress, from local communities to continental platforms,” she added.
Highlighting successful initiatives such as YouthConnekt Africa, which originated in Rwanda and has since expanded across the continent, High Commissioner Mbabazi reaffirmed Rwanda’s commitment to working with Ghana and other African partners to enhance youth empowerment, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
“Rwanda remains committed to working closely with Ghana and all our partners to scale these successes, deepen youth inclusion, and harness our continent’s demographic dividend for the collective good,” she noted.
Concluding her remarks, the High Commissioner encouraged young Africans to continue driving positive change and shaping the continent’s destiny with confidence and unity.
“Let us move forward together - confident, united, and determined - knowing that Africa’s time is not tomorrow; it is now, and it is yours to shape,” she concluded.
